American pastor charged with an “act of terrorism” in Turkey
This is to be expected in countries like Turkey. But it’s already occurring in America, as street preachers are increasingly being assaulted and arrested for preaching in the streets.
It’s interesting to see the online chatter, as to how some Christians in America are responding to this. Christians within America ought to respond with more faith in God’s sovereignty. The Scriptures are very clear that Christians will be persecuted.
“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12).
Though I am very thankful for our Bill of Rights, most of us are too demanding of our own rights. Admittedly I too struggle with this (the flesh). But let us think of Christ as our standard. Did the Lord Jesus assert His “rights” when crucified? Read the 53rd chapter of Isaiah, and see for yourself. Then if you dare to, read James Durham’s 704 pages in “Christ Crucified: The Marrow of the Gospel in 72 Sermons on Isaiah 53.”
Regarding the false charge of “terrorism.” One of my ‘mentors at large’ Paul Washer forewarned in this video, that Christians in America will not be arrested and charged with the crime of being a “Christian,” or for “preaching the Gospel,” but instead they will be charged with factious charges like this Pastor.
Nonetheless this Pastor and his family deserve our prayers.
“Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body” (Hebrews 13:3).
As always brethren –Love ‘biblically’ – repent – be salt and light – be holy – be sanctified – fear God – pray without ceasing – keep His commandments – grow in His grace and knowledge – put on the whole armor of God (and use it) – walk circumspectly – believe in and trust Jesus – obey the Gospel – share the Gospel – preach the Gospel – contend for the faith, – disciple each other, hate the things that God hates, and love the things that God loves – keep the faith, work-out your salvation, and endure to the end!
