Excellent sermon ‘For Whom Did Christ Die,’ by Dr. Steven Lawson
This is an excellent sermon on the ‘doctrine of definite atonement,’ preached by a scholarly of scholars.
I was not saved because I ‘accepted Jesus into my heart.’ I was not saved because I ‘closed my eyes, bowed my head, and raised my hand’ in an unbiblical altar call. I was not saved because I ‘repeated this sinner’s prayer.’
But on November 14th, 1991 at high noon, I was saved during a gun-battle in a church parking lot, because HE CHOSE ME. It was then that I was radically saved, by a radical God. And what came after salvation (justification), was a process of being radically changed (sanctification) by God.
Oh by the grace of God, that He saved a wretch like me. Soli Deo Gloria!
