How can pastors commit ecclesiastical or pastoral infidelity?
This applies to the Steve Lawson scandal. I remember respectfully telling a pastor this once, because he was stretched too thin.
When a pastor frequently travels to preach at various churches and/or conferences, you do not have a faithful shepherd. He’s become everyone else’s itinerant preacher. Instead of one bride, he has multiple brides all over, and it’s a form of ecclesiastical or pastoral infidelity. A solution is for churches to use their own men to fill their pulpit. Not swap pulpits like the world swaps wives. This will also lower the danger of pastors on the road without the accountability of their wives or other men.
Prideful men who desire to be guest speakers or those who idolize celebrity pastors will disagree, nonetheless.
