LAPD officer Edgar Verduzco arrested and charged with three counts of murder – please pray for my reaching-out to him  

When I first heard about this on the news, I thought of myself. I thought the only difference between Verduzco and myself, is Verduzco got caught.  I thought of myself as a young 27 year old Los Angeles police officer, who loved his alcohol, and revelry. Like many other police officers, I was a worldly man who frequently drove (off duty) under the influence of alcohol. However my blood alcohol content (BAC) was sometimes higher than Verduzco’s alleged .08 percent BAC.

It was only by the grace of God that I never got arrested for the same. It was only by the grace of God that He granted me repentance. That He saved a wretch like me, and that He even delivered me from the desire to drink alcohol. Oh Lord keep me from allowing that toxic poison to ever touch my lips again. Only by the grace of God, so go I.

Therefore I feel led to reach-out to Verduzco. I was going to give him a surprise visit in county jail, while he awaits his trial, but I decided to make my initial contact via the U.S. mail. I will be sending Verduzco a cover letter, along with an IPOC Gospel tract. I am asking fellow born-again Christians to pray for him, that the Lord will fertilize his soil, even before he reads my U.S. mail. However if Verduzco does request me to visit him in jail, for confidentiality reasons, I will not be giving any updates.
