Last night’s storm caused the skies to explode in glory, but some people perished
Last night’s storm caused the skies to explode in glory. The Lord’s thunder and the concussion sounded as if our windows shattered. Our tornado warning system increased to a “warning” sounding off advising everyone to “seek shelter immediately.” I think our dogs understood that 😉 because they did their best to break into the bedroom. Though we have an underground shelter, I sought shelter in the bed, under the shelter of His wings, prayed, and waited it out.
Consequently, a deadly EF-4 tornado touched down about 240 miles south of us, causing 100 miles of carnage, a ½ mile wide, destroying everything it touched, and killing many people.
Applicably,
“The Lord is slow to anger but great in power; the Lord will never leave the guilty unpunished. His path is in the whirlwind and storm, and clouds are the dust beneath his feet.” – Nahum 1:3
“So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.” – Psalm 83:15
“Behold, a whirlwind of the Lord is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.” – Jerimiah 23:19
My dear neighbors, one day Christ will return as a Mighty Warrior, waging war, vengeance, and violence on those that do not know Him and obey His Gospel. The wicked will perish and will be eternally dammed, but the Lord’s elect will be lovingly resurrected in His eternal glory.
“and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,” – 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9
“Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.” – Ezekiel 38:9
These storms are like warning lights on your dashboard. In His sovereignty, the Lord decrees the degrees and these storms, and a storm that is apocalyptic in nature is coming. Fear God, keep His Commandments, repent towards Him, believe, and obey His Gospel, thrusting yourselves upon Christ for salvation.

I heard a pastor in Rolling Fork Mississippi interviewed by the media about the EF-4 tornado that destroyed their town. The pastor said, “we’re gonna let Jesus walk with us!” That’s synergism for you. Where man thinks he’s on the throne, and man lets God cooperate with him. Sir, Jesus is His name, and Christ is His title. And God put all things into subjection under Christ’s feet. It’s only by the grace of God that He allowed you to live and walk thru this. Fear God, and Soli Deo Gloria. Semper Reformanda!
