Must see video of Dr. Voddie Baucham explaining the importance of preaching “the content” of “The Gospel!”

Full disclosure: While attempting to preach the Gospel in the streets is not easy, and I fall miserably short, but let’s not intentionally do it wrong.

Sadly I’m seeing a trend on social media encouraging others to a #316Challenge by saying John 3:16 to as many people they can on Friday March 16^th. This Facebook invite reads as the following.

“John 3:16 is the most well-known Bible passage in the world. Let’s take the opportunity on Friday, March 16th to spread that verse and the precious Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the Earth!!! The challenge is to say that verse to as many people as you can!!! Say it to everyone you encounter that day, plan an outreach to share it, go to a busy street corner or causeway where foot traffic is heavy, stand on a box and proclaim it, challenge your youth group, Awana group, church, whatever it takes!!!!! Please mark your calenders and SHARE SHARE SHARE this event all over Facebook and beyond!!!! Let’s do this all over the world!!!! You have been CHALLENGED!!!! GOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!”

Brethren I would never want to discourage others from evangelizing. However I do want to discourage you from using John 3:16 out of context. Remember when Paul gave his farewell speech (I call it a dying death declaration), he judged his ministry on teaching the whole counsel of the Word of God, and because of that, he was innocent of the blood of men.

“And indeed, now I know that you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, will see my face no more. Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God” (Acts 20:25-27).

This world and even many local churches are full of many that “believe,” but are unconverted hell-bound believers (Matt 7:21-23). Besides that, this word ‘believe’ in the Greek means to be “entrusted to and committed to Christ.”

Nevertheless, in this video Dr. Voddie Baucham explains the importance of preaching the “the content” of the Gospel. But bear in mind he is speaking to born-again Christians here. His atonement was for His church, not everyone will benefit from His propitiation. Below this video I have included the message content of my new Gospel tract “The Glorious Gospel.”
