Preparing cattle shed for baby calve 🐮

I looked up the five signs of #calving, and our Mama Black Angus shows four of them.

• Rapidly growing udder & big nipples
• Springing in the back end (just learned that terminology) aka a puffy, relaxed vulva
• Mucous & discharge
• Restlessness and weird behavior
• Disappearing pelvic ligaments (this one I’m not sure about). She’s so meaty, it might not show until the last day.

Nonetheless, I dolled up her stalls with a fall cleaning. Though there’s always a battle against poop, urine, and water from the rain, I want a good start for their new adventure.
