Scathing video on ‘A sense of urgency’ (things are changing and they’re changing quickly, watch this short urgent message now)
This preacher is so right about mega-churches, but the same problem exists with many small and mid-sized churches.
To answer his question “If they don’t find Him [God] in the church, where are they gonna find Him?” I totally understand this preacher’s heart, but the Biblical way they will “find Him,” is by sending the sheep (the church) ‘outside’ the four walls of that building most call ‘church.’ Nowhere in the Scriptures are we told to wait once a year to invite lost sinners to a crusade. But we are told to bring the crusade to them.
Yes God is in control, yes God is sovereign. But we MUST ‘go out’ the four walls of our home church, and proclaim the Gospel to a lost and dying world. And we ought to do so with a sense of urgency.
Regarding his remarks of the ‘blood on our hands. That is a Biblical warning that we should heed. Just before the Apostle Paul was martyred, in Acts 20:25-31 Paul gave the following dying death declaration.
“And indeed, now I know that you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, will see my face no more. Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God. Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves. Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.”
“In answer to your inquiry, I consider that the chief dangers which confront the coming century will be religion without the Holy Ghost, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, and heaven without hell.” – William Booth, Founder of The Salvation Army
