Short video of a pastor’s broken heart over the apathy of evangelism within the church
David is correct in saying that “whatever our vocations may be at the time, the command is the same for us all. To make disciples.”
Church, how does one become a disciple? First and foremost if they become saved, it’s by sharing the glorious Gospel with them.
Notice how he couched his words carefully here. He said, “This is what happens when followers of Christ decide there are no spectators in the church.”
Now zoom-in on “followers of Christ.” Bingo! You see there’s a huge difference between being a ‘believer,’ and being a Christian (a follower of Christ, or to be Christ-like).
The Lord forewarned that many believers would perish in hell. Why? Because they were not repented, blood washed, regenerate, born-again’ers.
“Do you want to go to heaven alone? I fear you will never go there. Have you no wish for others to be saved? Then you are not saved yourself. Be sure of that.” ~ Charles Spurgeon
“I think the most awesome task tonight is not to be the president of the United States, or a king of an empire. But to be a man who stands [preaches] between a living God and a dying people.” ~ Leonard Ravenhill
