Some Pastors have turned Christ’s bride into Republican country clubs…
The following is a comment that I inserted under a post on a Reformed Baptist Facebook page. Perhaps it stands alone here as an editorial. Because this sheepdog serves and follows the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, not an elephant nor a donkey.
The 2016 presidential election truly revealed how ameikas evangelicalism has infiltrated churches across the heartland, including some Calvinist / Reformed churches. It’s one thing to enter a voting booth, close the curtain, vote, and keep our mouths shut. But the way I’ve seen professing Christians boast in Trump, and claim Trump was a “Christian” because he is “pro-life,” shows how many ‘seem’ to be more loyal to their Republican party, than they are to our Christian truths (or to Christ).
Let the sheep be what they may, but frankly, many pastors from all theological persuasions have lost their credibility by publicly ‘endorsing’ Trump. A president that is partially pro-life (and partial pro-death), that’s quasi-socialist, and that’s an advocate for the homosexual agenda. And both Trump and Pence have proven to further promote the wicked homosexual agenda. Trump even recently boasted in agreement that he is “the most pro-gay president” ever.
Some pastors have turned Christ’s bride into republican country clubs, and it’s a shame as to how they align themselves with such world views, simply because that party is not as evil as the other party.
These days are getting darker and evil quicker, and it’s time to quit compromising and playing Christian. As I said in a recent Tweet,
“In 2012 Trump won the “evangelical vote,” but in 2020 he lost much of the Christian vote. Will the GOP learn from that?”
In 2008 I left the GOP, primarily because of how I saw a rising republicanization of our Christendom, and I never looked back. I’m one of those conservative registered Independents that Trump/Pence would not listen to. But most importantly, I am a bond-slave to Christ. I do not legislate my conviction upon others, but for me, it is was to be more sanctified from the world. I lost real friends because of my stance, but frankly, I don’t care. We’re called to be God pleasers, not man pleasers.
As always – Love ‘biblically’ – repent – be salt and light – be holy – be sanctified – to be against the world – fear God – pray without ceasing – keep His commandments – grow in His grace and knowledge – put on the whole armor of God (and use it) – walk circumspectly – believe in and trust Jesus – obey the Gospel – share the Gospel – preach the Gospel – contend for the faith, – disciple each other – live Godly in Christ Jesus – hate the things that God hates, and love the things that God loves – rejoice in sufferings – don’t flinch in the face of adversity – keep the faith, work-out your salvation, and endure to the end!
