Testing my Kayak on the ocean via Newport Beach harbor, the Balboa Peninsula, and then the open ocean
Since this web site and domain no longer belongs to a 501c3 non-profit, it is now my personal page. Therefore along with Christian related posts, I will be personalizing this page, along with including more of my outdoorsman activities.
This trip was primarily to test my Kayak in the ocean, and to build my own confidence level. It’s one thing to be in a regular boat, but to sit on top of a powerful unknown ocean with nothing but a piece of plastic between you is an eerie thing, but it also feels like your sitting on top of the world.
Listening to and watching the many species of birds, feeling an unknown object tap the bottom of your kayak (you’ll see what that was), and wondering what’s nibbling on your hook is an exciting feeling. It also reminded me of the passage that my Pastor just taught through. That God created man in His own image, and that we have dominion over these living things.
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth” (Genesis 1:26).
At the end of the day, as I stepped out of my yacht, I nearly stepped on a Sand Shark that was camouflaged in the dirt.
My next trip to the ocean will be committed to more serious fishing, rather than testing the kayak and sightseeing. Hopefully, their live bait barge will be back in business.
