The alleged “package bomber” arrested was 56-year-old Cesar Altieri Sayoc of Florida (for allegedly mailing bombs to liberals)
Today they arrested the “package bomber.” According to law enforcement officials, 56-year-old Cesar Altieri Sayoc of Florida allegedly sent those bombs to various liberals, including past presidents.
According to Florida State voter registration records, Sayoc registered as a Republican on 03/04/16. After doing an analysis of his social media presence, photos of his vehicle, and the clothing that he wore, it’s obvious Sayoc was a big supporter of Trump. So much so, that he even “demonized his critics.” This is not a popular thing to say, but that sounds like a portion of my own Facebook friends. Their walls are screaming Trump Trump Trump, and they too “demonize” anyone that might not stand 100% with them. There’s nothing wrong with supporting your president, but there’s a point when it becomes idolatry.
Jesus warned in Matthew 15:18-20, “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.”
Having said all that. I expect these things from the lost world (Republican, Democrat or any political party). But let it not be named amongst those that profess to be Christian.
As Paul warned professing Christians. “But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God” (Ephesians 5:3-5).
Only by the grace of God, so go I.
Admittedly years ago, patriotism became an idol in my life. But thankfully the Lord convicted, and sanctified me in this area. To remove myself from all of this political chaos and hypocrisy, I left the Republican Party, and re-registered as an Independent. The Lord and His church must always be before my country.
As I recently posted on Facebook “I’m a CHRISTian that’s not a Republican, that’s an anomaly these days. Whom shall a Christian love more, and fight for more? A country, or Christ’s bride? I’ll choose the latter, because that’s whom God chose, and that’s whom Christ died for.”
If you’re a Christian, and you want to “make America great again,” then preach (or share) the Gospel with this lost world; start by reading our Gospel tract below.
