Video of Charlie Sheen revealing his HIV status to Matt Lauer on the Today Show – but hey what about the rest of us?
I do not follow Hollywood news. Hence this is the first time I’ve posted about Charlie Sheen and/or his HIV diagnosis. This story doesn’t just exist in Hollywood. Both sin and HIV are prevalent in every one of our own communities. When Charlie Sheen’s doctor gave him his diagnosis that he was “HIV positive.” Sheen said (in the below video), “It’s a hard three letters to absorb.”
But hey what about the rest of us?
I’m going to talk about three other letters that are also deadly (both physically and eternally). As I’ve stated many times while street preaching. Every one of us have infected blood, and our test results are ‘S-I-N- positive.’ And every one of us are in need of a blood transfusion by the redeeming shed blood of Christ. All’s it takes is just ‘one’ sin to condemn us into hell forever. It takes just one lie, and we are doomed for eternal damnation under the eternal wrath of God.
Fact is, because of the sin of the first Adam (the sins in the garden), all of us were born into sin. That is why we must be born-again of Thee Second Adam – Jesus Christ (Rom 5:12, 1 Cor 15:45). Having said all that, the Bible makes it very clear to those that are born again. That sexual sin is the only sin that is a direct sin against our body. All other sins are ‘outside’ of our body. If you are born again, your body is a temple of His Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6:18-20). The Lord also warns those that ‘profess’ to believe in Jesus, but that continue in their sins (including fornication); that they will NOT inherit the kingdom of God. Because there is no salvation without repentance (1 Cor 6:9, Luke 13:1-5, Mark 1:15, Acts 3:19-21).
To those that ‘profess’ to be Christians. Do you truly know God? More importantly does God know you? Yes it is true that according to the Scriptures, every one of us were sinners, and were once enemies of Christ. But when we become born again we are no longer a “sinner” by definition (Rom 5:8-10). We become a new creation in Christ, we become a “saint,” a “child of God” (2 Cor 5:17, John 1:12, Eph 4:12, Phil 4:21, Acts 9:13, 9:32, 26:10, Phil 2:15). True we will still sin, but if we are truly born-again of His incorruptible Seed, we can no longer willfully continue in our sins without repentance (1 John 3:9, Matt 7:21-23). The Bible makes it very clear that our sins bring forth death, and that we will reap what we have sown (Rom 6:23, James 1:15, Gal 6:8).
To be saved from our ‘SIN positive’ test results, we must be born again, and we must repent. For further regarding salvation, please read our link on ‘Are you good enough to go to heaven? / How to know God.’
