Jeremiah MacKay On Feb 12th, 2013, San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputy / detective Jeremiah MacKay was tragically shot and killed in a shootout. He was killed by former LAPD officer Christopher Dorner.

Regarding the below audio (which is at the bottom of the page.) When the dispatcher said “14-David-2, unit with detective Mackay;” she was referring to the unit that was with MacKay, as his body lay in repose. I’ve had the privilege of performing this duty, for officers that were shot and killed.

On behalf of IPOC Ministries our love, prayers, and condolences go out to MacKay’s wife, family, friends, and colleagues. We are most grateful for his service, and his sacrifice. However, as a Christian ministry, it is imperative to discuss the Biblical truths of the after-life, and to never speculate or assume.

Eternity is a very long time, and we don’t want to get this wrong. Therefore, I say the following with love, compassion and respect.

As a chaplain my duty is not to desire to gain the popularity of men, but to please God; and to love mankind with the Biblical truth. “For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10

I did not have the privilege of knowing MacKay, nor have I heard the testimonies of others that MacKay was in fact a follower of Christ (a Christian) when he died. Therefore, it would be wrong for me to say “RIP” etcetera, as I’ve seen Christians (that did not know him) say on Facebook.

If MacKay was a repented blood washed saved Christian, then he will be resting in peace (RIP,) in heaven with the Lord. Therefore, as the dispatcher said “Gods speed” to him. However, if he was not saved, then his soul will spend an eternity in a place of eternal torment.

I’ve been to too many funerals, where pastors, priests, and/or chaplains have flat out lied regarding Salvation and eternity. That should not be so, and is Theological malpractice.

Having said that, for more information on “How to obtain Salvation, and the assurance of eternity in heaven,” please click here. Below is the audio of MacKay’s last call and EOW.
