Fondle your Bible not your gadgets, when electronics replace the Bible (sermon jam)
Sermon notes: Electronics can be a blessing, but they should never replace our traditional paper back Bibles.
When we use our smart phones, iPods, iPads or the big screen as the primary source for reading the Word of God; then there is no longer a need to actually search thru the Scriptures.
We should be considerate of others. Because to see congregants on their cellphones or others electronic devices in church, is a distraction to others. We don’t know if their using a Bible application, or texting their friends.
Consequently? We’ll end up with an entire generation that does not know how to, nor where to find a verse in the Bible. Hence they will not know the Word of God.
I would encourage you, to resist the temptation of allowing technology to replace your Bible; taking away your familiarization of Gods Word. Don’t fondle your gadgets, fondle your Bible.
As the commercial once said “let your fingers do the walking thru the yellow pages” – Gods pages. Or as I’ve said before “Take a trip thru the route 66, all 66 books within the Bible.
God said in Deuteronomy 11:18 “Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine, in your heart and in your soul; and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.”
Jeremiah 15:16 “Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy, and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O Lord, God of hosts.”
