Last night I had a dream about our protest at the home of the Chief Justice of the 9th Circuit Court
I am not saying that God speaks to us in dreams today. I believe in the new covenant God only speaks to us via His inerrant, infallible, sufficient Scripture. Nonetheless, last night I had a dream.
I dreamt the true story about a small protest I was involved in at the front doorsteps of the Honorable Justice Stephen Reinhardt, the Chief Justice of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. His wife was the controversial Ramona Ripston, the Executive Director of the A.C.L.U.
Our protest was because that Court had just ruled that the words “one nation under God” must be removed from the Pledge of Allegiance.
Simultaneously we had another protest deployed along the coastline in front of their Marina Del Rey beachfront property. That was accomplished via an airplane that flew a prolific message for everyone to see. The advertisement banner depicted the words ONE NATION UNDER GOD!
So, when I woke from that comprehensive dream, I decided to look all of them up. To my surprise, all three passed away in the same year, the year 2018.
I was on Duffy’s radio show several times. The most notable caper was reporting live from the aforementioned home of Chief Justice Reinhardt and Ramona Ripston.
So, I and a few pastors went to the home of the Chief Justice and reported live via a cellphone, and while doing so, the U.S. Marshalls converged upon and detained us.
Fast-forwarding through many years, who would have known that the same 9th Circuit Court would one day decide my fate in one of my capers. One day I might talk more about that.
Nonetheless, I don’t think I would protest a Justices’ home again. And looking back at most of my activism then, without the powerful glorious Gospel, it was all vanity. Today, one of those pastors is still involved in political protests, apparently without the Gospel.
The moral of this story is? Life is short, now go share the Gospel with the lost. Either by preaching, sharing, or via a Gospel tract.
In the meantime, here’s one recording I do have from the Warren Duffy days. This interview was back in October of 2002 and was about the at-large Beltway Snipers. By God’s grace, my doctrinal beliefs have changed since then.
