Last night the Corona City Council voted on Resolution No. 2013-099, which if passed, would make the using of the name of “Jesus” in prayers / invocations, more “inclusive.”

Prior to that vote, two persons (whom I know,) spoke on behalf of the Lord Jesus Christ, and His Church. They are Nick (from church) and Donna. I did not have a microphone on Donna. Hence below is Nicks testimony.

After their testimonies, the Jewish councilwoman advised, that it was a Jewish person, that had complained about the name of Jesus being invoked at city invocations. The council advised that they were proactively acquiescing to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling upon another city. They advised this was done to prevent any further problems.

After the two speeches, the council voted unanimously in favor of the resolution. In order to be in compliance, with the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, this is understandable. What was troublesome was a councilperson advised that they would proactively seek out other clergyman, from other faiths for future invocations.

“And above His head they put up the charge against Him which read, “THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.” Matthew 27:37

“Now Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?” Jesus said to him, “It is as you say.” And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing. Then Pilate said to Him, “Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?” But He answered him not one word, so that the governor marveled greatly.” Matthew 27:11-14

“Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.” Matt 10:32-33

“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

“And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:8-11
