Trump administration considers incentivizing population growth
Though I never questioned it, most of my generation received a tax benefit for having children. But now the Trump administration is considering incentivizing (bribing) women to have a baby by paying them a $5,000 baby bonus to have a child.
And where is this Big Government’s new parental advice coming from? Largely from Elon Musk who claims, “civilization at large will collapse without an increase in children.” Do we really want the government telling an unknown population to have more children? Remember that Elon Musk has fathered at least 14 children from 4 different women and encourages others to “have a lot of kids.” And sadly, Trump wants to pursue that thought.
One of the reasons our crime rate is so high today is because a generation of parents (married or not) had babies when they should not have. Or, we’ve become a fatherless society, whereas the fathers have become nothing but sinful sperm donors. Or wives have sinfully used the “no-fault divorce” excuse to remove the father from their homes. By the way, have we forgotten that “God hates divorce” (Malachi 2:16, Matt 5:31-32). Have we forgotten that divorce devastates children, and some suffer permanent damage? And then our government rewards their sin of fornication or unbiblical divorce with welfare payments, which is another form of socialism.
I see many alleged Christians ignorantly or maliciously using the Bible to support their social justice gospel, socialism, or welfare programs. I call them registered Text offenders as they molest God’s Holy Word. Matthew 25:31-40 seems to be a popular passage they eisegesis. And these Simpletons say, “What’s an eisegesis” as they lean their socialism, sloppy agapé, and lack of hermeneutics into the Text.
My most recent observation was a Teri Ann on Facebook. She (emphasis added) wrongfully shamed Tanner Cartwright for opposing this same baby bonus on his own wall. After she cut and pasted Matthew 7 out of context telling him, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged,” she repeated her violation of hermeneutics stating, “How about Matthew 25: 31-40…”
But context matters. Matthew 25:31-40 was a part of Jesus’ Olivet discourse. Jesus was not speaking of government assistance, nor the state using tax dollars to redistribute the wealth or income of others. In short, He was specifically speaking to His disciples and how their good works were more consistent with salvation. Though good works are not the cause of salvation, they are manifested because of salvation, and we do it to glorify our Father (Matthew 5:13-16). Jesus separates the sheep (true converts) from the goats (false converts). As He warned in Matthew 7:21-23, not everyone who calls Him “Lord” is saved. Albeit helping the needy is good and noble. But as I said before, the Triunity of the Godhead, His Law, the Gospel, and His Scriptures must be the Vanguard of our ministry. Lest our good works become a social justice gospel, not the true Gospel. Generally speaking, it is good for believers to care or provide for others. But it is even better to care for our fellow “brethren” (vs 40). That responsibility and blessing belong to each of us individually and to our local churches corporately, but not the government.
I am a fan of DOGE and all the cutbacks they are making. But our government has no business pimping and pandering the public to have more kids by stimulating them with stimulus checks while robbing the taxpayers of the money to pay for it. When a government thinks it’s their responsibility to increase or decrease the population, they have deified themselves. If this plan comes to the House of Representatives for a vote, what will the legal language consist of? Will this financial bonus be exclusively for married couples with a lawfully wedded husband and wife? Will it sinfully benefit a birthing mother without a husband? Either way, I will be telling my congressman to vote “no.”
Lastly, you won’t hear this F word from most pulpits in the “Bible Belt” Tennessee, but fornication is still an egregious sin and always will be.
“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God." - 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
But for God’s elect, there is some Good News below.
