Video message ‘A Rebuke of Adapting and Adopting to the Culture,’ by Voddie Baucham
Pastor Voddie rebukes pastors, churches, and Christians that adopt and adapt to the culture (aka emergent.) He used the Apostle Paul as an example of what we should be like. Paul not only preached the truth from behind a pulpit. Paul also open-air preached the truth in the public arena. As Voddie said, “The fact of the matter is, he’s preaching the resurrection in the market place. He’s not truncating the Gospel, in order to win popularity. He is preaching Christ, Him crucified, and Him resurrected; in the market place!”
“The goal of your life must not be a scheme to gain popularity, so that you can use it for God. The goal of your life must be to know God better, that you might serve Him more faithfully. – Voddie Baucham”
“You and I cannot be useful if we want to be sweet as honey in the mouths of men. God will never bless us if we wish to please men, that they may think well of us. Are you willing to tell them what will break your own heart in the telling and break theirs in the hearing? If not, you are not fit to serve the Lord. You must be willing to go and speak for God, though you will be rejected.” Charles H. Spurgeon
