Video on ‘Satan’s workshop, and the power of the press,’ by J. A. James, in the year 1848

This puritan wrote this newspaper column back in 1848. It’s almost prophetic to hear what he said, as we watch where we are today.

He also warned about the many books that some Christians are reading a well.

“I don’t want Satan to outwit us. After all, we are not ignorant about Satan’s scheming.” (2 Corinthians 2:11.) The press has a great power for evil. Infidel and immoral writers are pouring forth a deluge of skepticism and vice, which are depositing a pernicious and pestiferous slime over the minds of the people.”
