This book burnings for you! – Yes, burning books is Biblical – Acts 19:19🔥
Many will laugh, some will mock, others will be angry with me, but a minority will appreciate this; so, let her rip.
One of the greatest disappointments (or offenses) I see in today’s Christendom, is the sinister idolatry of celebrity pastors, books, and/or authors.
On many Facebook groups, it’s more about man than the Lord or His Scripture. Even Reformed Baptist groups are promoting dispensationalists and heretics i.e., C.S. Lewis.
And their “apologetics” defend man (or their idols), rather than defend, or contend for the faith. It’s as if they replacing the words Jesus Christ in 1 John 2:1 with the name of their idol.
“My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, [name of celebrity] the righteous.”
C.S. Lewis was worse than a mere false teacher. His doctrine was not only unbiblical, but it was also anti-Biblical, rising to the level of heresy. He was a heretic with another Gospel that the Scriptures warn about. And since he still speaks from his grave (through his books), he must be marked as a threat to the church (more in comments).
Repent from idol worship, and trust that Jesus Christ is our Advocate, and the rest of us are mere sinful men.
Over the last two years, for various reasons, we’ve discarded hundreds of books. Most donated, others deposited in Little Free Library stands, and others burned. This burning’s for you.
Acts 19:19 “And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver. So the word of the Lord continued to increase and prevail mightily.”
Let’s make book burning great again!
Note: I was joking about my wife’s quilting book, and the Lucado book was mine (regretfully).

A few facts about C.S. Lewis _
.
C.S. Lewis rejected the inerrancy of Scripture and justification by faith alone; not a Christian.
.
Lewis taught Theistic Evolution, that the Genesis account came from pagan sources, he was a pelagian, taught works based salvation, and denied a literal heaven and hell.
.
Dr. Lloyd Jones told Christianity Today that because C.S. Lewis was essentially a philosopher, his view of salvation was defective. J.D. Douglas paraphrases Lloyd-Jones, saying Lewis’ view of salvation was “defective in two key respects: (1) Lewis taught and believed that one could reason oneself into Christianity; and (2) Lewis was an opponent of the substitutionary and penal theory of the Atonement.”
.
“C.S. Lewis… would never embrace the (literal-infallible) view of the Bible. He would accept no theory of the ‘total depravity of man.’ He rejected the ‘substitutionary theory’ of the
Atonement” (F.B.F. News Bulletin, Fundamental Baptist Fellowship, March 4, 1984).
.
“I have the deepest respect for Pagan myths, still more for myths in the Holy Scriptures” (The Problem of Pain) – C.S. Lewis
.
He essentially held to the same brand of Universalism as Billy Graham.
“There are people in other religions who are being led by God’s secret influence to concentrate on those parts of their religion which are in agreement with Christianity, and who thus belong to Christ without knowing it … For example a Buddhist of good will may be led to concentrate more and more on the Buddhist teaching about mercy and to leave in the background (though he might still say he believed) the Buddhist teaching on certain points. Many of the good Pagans long before Christ’s birth may have been in this position” (Mere Christianity, p. 209). – C.S. Lewis
