Video of an outreach at the ‘LA Kings Stanley Cup Victory Parade Celebration, 2014’ (Lord Stanley)
On this day I teamed up to assist many other evangelists (under Tatsuo’s lead). We split up, distributed thousands of Gospel tracts, did much crying out, and some preaching. As one Pastor, “If you don’t come into this to die, then don’t come. You’re only hurting us. You’re not helping.”
I’ve been knocked down on my derriere before while preaching. But this time I ended up on my butt without anyone’s help. The crowd got a laugh out of that bloop and blunder (1 Cor 1:27).
Then when I heard the voice of an LAPD Squad Leader call his squad into formation, I seized that opportunity to share the Gospel with that squadron of officers (Mark 16:15). Please pray for all those Gospel seeds that were sown, pray for the soil.
If you don’t believe that people worship the Stanley cup (or sports), watch the Jewish man in the video below in comments.
“No sort of defense is needed for preaching out-of-doors; but it would need very potent arguments to prove that a man had done his duty who has never preached beyond the walls of his meetinghouse.” — Charles H. Spurgeon
“If sinners will be damned, at least let them leap to hell over our bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees, imploring them to stay. If hell must be filled, at least let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go there unwarned and unprayed for.” ~ Charles Spurgeon.
“Do you want to go to heaven alone? I fear you will never go there. Have you no wish for others to be saved? Then you are not saved yourself. Be sure of that.” Charles Spurgeon.
“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Romans 10:14).
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek” (Romans 1:16).
